How do you get your team to say diamond, if you can't say baseball, ring, carats, jewel or engagement' You might say, "These are a girl's best friend. Hope is a huge one. The World Series is played here. Some are found in the rough." Get your team to say the secret word. Give suggestive sentences, funny phrases or even one word hints as clues. But don't use any of the words on the card. That's Taboo! Each time your team shouts out the secret word, you get a point. But be careful! Your opponents will be "looking over your shoulder" - making sure you don't say any of the Taboo words. If you do and they catch you, they sound the buzzer and score the point! It's unspeakable fun. Our family and youth group love this game. It is played in teams and relies on the verbal skills of the clue-giver. So younger kids may have a harder time getting their team to guess the target word w/o using the words that are "taboo." The game's been around awhile but we love it.
I have recently bought this game, and played it with a group for the first time last week. I can't describe how much fun we had that night because of this game, I'm so glad I got it. HIGHLY recommend it.

I haven't played it since I bought it, but I've played it with friends in the past, drunk and sober, and it is always a good time. It brings out everyone's competitive nature without turning everyone into a-holes like monopoly. It is simple with a bit of difficulty and can be played with youngsters as well. I think this is a must have for any game player.
